Is it safe to encourage kids to dive?+
ReefKids is built around skill, not depth-chasing: guess-the-depth, exploration, personal progress. Kid profiles cap leaderboard ranges, deep readings are flagged to parents, and the app nudges breaks. Like any water toy it is for supervised swimming. ReefKids is not a safety or rescue device.
What ages is it for?+
Any confident swimmer. The sweet spot is kids 6 to 14, but the family leaderboard has a way of pulling in parents very fast.
Do I need my phone at the water?+
No. The tag records on its own all day. Back on your towel, or that evening, hold your phone to it and the day's dives sync in seconds.
How deep and how tough is it?+
Deeper than anyone in your family will ever go. It reads depth far beyond any pool or snorkel dive, and the sealed puck has no ports and no buttons, so there is nothing to flood or break.
